Percolator Cleaning

mr coffee cleaner percolatorCleaning a percolator is a simple process. I have found that the Mr. Coffee Cleaner works great on the percolators.  Mix the solution as directed on the box, then run it through the percolator a few times.

If your percolator needs more cleaning simply let the solution soak in the bottom of the machine for a couple days. You can even drop the basket and the spreader into the bottom to soak as well. Many times these parts will have stains that are hard to get, and a good soaking should go along ways.

Get a pistol cleaning rod and a .30 or .32 caliber bore brush to scrub out the inside of the pump tube. This is one area that is hard to get clean otherwise.

For stainless steel coffee pots I use
dishwasher soap like Cascade. Pour a small amount inside and run a pot of water thru the cycle , dump out the dirty water and wipe inside with a dishcloth and it should come out shining. The spout I can usually clean with a Q tip. It gets enough cleaner when I pour the hot dirty water out. I just cleaned a coffee pot that was black inside, the dirty water after the cleaning cycle was the color of coffee(dirty) and now it is gleaming and I just made a great pot of coffee.
hope this helps.
