Coffee Percolating

Farberware Percolator

Farberware PercolatorIn 1930 Farberware introduced their first electric percolator. That first percolator started a long tradition by Farberware of making very reliable and well made percolator appliances. If you look at the percolators made today, they are almost indistinguishable from the much older Farberware models.

You can easily pick up a used Farberware percolator, clean it up, and probably have a perfectly good coffee percolator to last for many years.

Farberware percolators have proven to be the most reliable and long lived of electric percs currently on the market. The nice thing is that you can actually buy a replacement heating element should it ever go out. The crevice formed where the stubby spout meets the pot is a pain to clean, though.

I received a fancy one cup-at-a-time coffee maker for xmas. It was fun to try the different flavors and looked nice on my kitchen counter. But, I never had that truly satisfied feeling after cup from the machine.(and it was only luke warm/hot). So, I decided to try a perk at my BFFs request. Well, I have to say, I am saving so much money on my coffee allowance. No more pods to buy, no more stops at starbucks. I LOOOOVE Perk coffee. Its like liquid gold. Hot and delishhh. And, I use Folgers. Simple, inexpensive.

Gigi, that is fantastic. I also tried the pods for a while, but it just did not meet my expectations. Perk coffee not only tastes great, but I also just enjoy brewing it, the whole process is enjoyable!

Eric, could not agree more. You can even pick up a 20 year old Farberware model at a garage sale for a couple bucks, and with a little bit of cleaning, it will work like new again! (I think I paid 1 or 2 dollars for my Farberware percolator at a garage sale!)

I have two Farberware models, a model 134 and 142B. These have given years of excellent service. Does anyone know where I can get complete part lists and parts for these models. Well worth the effort to keep them percolateing, the Honda of american coffee makers.

We have a never been used Farberware Superfast fully automatic percolator model 142B. Was a wedding gift (1982) and we still don’t drink coffee. Perfect, brand new condition. Complete. Anyone interested? We live in NC. Happy to send pics. Thanks!

I had a sturdy little Farbarware forever, until I caught it on my sleeve and sent it spinning onto the floor. :( Was so happy to find another, identical one! I wish they’d bring back the robot though.

Hi, Lois. The usual Coffee-to-water proportions are 1 coffee scoop (1 3/4-2 Tablespoons) for each six ounces of water. Enjoy!
